A question that I get asked all the time as a stylist is "Why is your image so important"? Now my usual answer for that question is why wouldn't it be. It's just as important as your health, your hygiene, etc. Think about it when a person first meets you whether it's a job interviewer or someone that has a once in a lifetime opportunity to present to you the first thing they pay attention to is the way you carry yourself. Your image is not something to be obsessed over but it's definitely not something to ignore either. Your image tells the world a short summary about who you are as a person without you opening your mouth and sometimes it may even keep somethings that you don't want people to know about you hidden. The question that I want to ask you is how would you like someone to perceive you? What you wear and how you wear it can either make you or break you. It can either tell a positive story about who you may be or bring a negative thought to the minds of individuals who first meet you or are watching you from a distance.
From your hair all the way down to the very shoes you wear is ideally necessary to a complete presentable image. Believe it or not it's the little details like the grooming of your nails for example that really bring your whole image together. I'm pretty sure we've all seen this before, the woman looks stylish from head to toe until you shake her hand or begin to notice the excess dirt beneath her nails. I always encourage clients to have atleast one pampering day for themselves per week and look and feel their best for themselves. You don't necessarily have be overly dressed everywhere you go to look good.
Having a wide selection of fashionable staple pieces to wear for all occasions will make getting dressed a lot more easier and faster. The most common thing that I hear a majority of women say is "I can't be bother". "Getting dressed up takes too long". "Putting a stylish outfit together takes too long, so I would rather just throw on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt and call it a day". Some have even said "I get dressed up or put some sort of effort in my outfit only if I really have to". So I totally get it, looking good takes a little effort and for some it can be somewhat challenging. But even so it's still worth trying.
You never know who you'll meet in life so take the initiative to look your best on purpose.
Get rid of the pajamas and say goodbye to the boring day to day look and have some fun with your personal style.
